Introduced in WWII, self-sealing fuel cells were a lifesaving technology and are still used in all military aircraft. However, 60 years later, what was once considered an innovation does not meet the needs for today's bio-fuel and synthetic-fuel powered engines. The added weight, cost and extended production lead-times make these legacy fuel cells even more difficult to use.
Our patent pending process combines additive manufacturing, advanced material and automation to deliver crashworthy, self-sealing and ballistically tolerant fuel cells for Future Vertical Lift (FVL), Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA), legacy military rotorcraft, and ground vehicles. Response Technologies’ fuel cells can withstand a 65 foot crash and can self-seal bullet holes up to 14.5 mm API. Our fuel cells offer increased fuel resistance and are compatible with new bio and synthetic fuel blends.
